Class Time: 40 minutes per class
Duration: Once per week over 4 weeks
Ages: 8-12 year olds
Class Size: 4-6 learners per class
Cost: $65 for the 4 week class
In this four week math class students will learn long division concepts using 3 different methods as an alternative to traditional division, although we will also cover the traditional method. The class consists of discussion, modeling of concepts, group, and individual practice. Students should have a solid understanding of basic multiplication, addition, and subtraction. If multiplication fact recall is a bit shaky, students should have a multiplication chart to help them as I don’t want students to exhaust all their energy recalling multiplication facts. Homework will be in the form of a worksheet or online practice and should take no longer than 20-30 minutes for each lesson. Homework will be assigned weekly in PDF format however, it is up to the student/parent if they want to complete it.
Our weekly class meetings will be held via Zoom. Parents will receive weekly emails with pdf handouts needed for that week. Parents will also utilize email to send me their child’s work so that I can give feedback.
I strive to keep our class sizes small so we will have between 4-6 learners in class. This is a good number for student interaction:)
