About Our Class:

Get ready to unleash your child’s writing potential with my engaging essay writing class! This course will introduce students to the 4 Square Writing Method, empowering them to craft expository, persuasive, descriptive, and narrative three paragraph essays with confidence. Through interactive discussions, guided practice, and sharing of completed work, they will have the opportunity to master the art of essay writing. Basic understanding of paragraph structure and the ability to compose 5-sentence paragraphs are prerequisites, as we will build on these skills.

To ensure thorough feedback, essays should be typed, and parents can assist younger students with typing while refraining from making corrections. Expect to dedicate 1 to 2 hours per week to homework, depending on the essay type. Students will be evaluated based on their completed essays, and receive personalized written feedback from the teacher weekly. Remember, perfection is not the goal; continuous practice is key. Ready to take your writing skills to the next level? Students also have the option to further hone their abilities in part 2 of this writing series.

Class Format:

Our weekly class meetings will be held via Zoom. Students will access their lessons, print worksheets, submit assignments, join discussions, and view their feedback through our classroom platform, Canvas.

I strive to keep our class sizes small so we will have between 4-6 learners in class. This is a good number for student interaction:)
