About the Class:
This class will introduce students to six different types of poetry, allowing them to understand the characteristics of each type and create their own masterpieces. Throughout the course, students will learn how to write Haiku, Couplet, Limerick, Acrostic, Cinquain, and Diamante poems. Learning will take place through discussion, guided and independent practice, and sharing of poetry. Students need to be able to handwrite or type. They will be asked to create at least one poem a week, and their progress will be evaluated by student work.
Class Format:
Our weekly class meetings will be held via Zoom. Students will access their lessons, print worksheets, submit assignments, join discussions, and view their feedback through our classroom platform, Canvas.
I strive to keep our class sizes small so we will have between 4-6 learners in class. This is a good number for student interaction.
The next class is scheduled for Mondays at 10 am CST starting on 1/12/25 and ending on 2/17/25. Please contact me to be put on the list of interested parents.
