Class Time: 40 minutes per class
Duration: Meet once per week over 6 weeks

This class introduces students to 6 different poetry types allowing them to understand the characteristics of each type while creating their own masterpieces. Students will learn how to write a Haiku, Couplet, Limerick, Acrostic, Chinquapin, and Diamanté poems. Learning will take place through discussion, guided and independent practice, and sharing of poetry. Students will need to be able to handwrite or type. Students will be asked to create at least one poem a week for homework.
Our weekly class meeting will be held via Zoom.Parents will receive weekly emails with pdf handouts needed for that week. Parents will also utilize email to send me their child’s written work so that I can give feedback.
I strive to keep class sizes small so we will only have between 4-6 learners in class. This is a good number for learner interaction:)
